Way back on March 22, 2008 I posted this piece on Steve Corbett of WILK in Wilkes Barre, and in it I accused Corbett of doing exactly just this stunt, which he has now followed through with. Read this story and try and pull out any rational reason he provides other than basically,
"I am a rebel".
If it were not so pitifully painful a crock to read, it would be great comic fodder.
Lot’s of beating his chest about his street credentials as a radical. So now voting for McCain is the choice radicals everywhere? As I maintained in my earlier post, this is all about being loved by what you perceive to be your audience under the guise of “I will just take my ball and go home.”
I did not buy it then, and I told you this would happen. Now not only has the national media completely sold out to the ratings, the Arbitron ratings have just bought up your local media outlet for you. You do not have a voice left America; a voice which is not completely corrupted.

9 bitching and whining:
This is just schtick from this Corbett character. The proof is on his blog today quote
“Some powerful people even suggested that I head up a national movement with a web site and an address and appearances all over the country. But although an organized and unified voice that Democratic Party bosses ignore is very much needed, I must humbly decline.”
He doesn’t really care who the nominee is. He isn’t ready to do the work to get his “message” out. It is just a ploy to boost himself.
How can we take him seriously if he doesn’t take himself serious enough to actually do something.
Corbett is all talk, no action. He wants to leave the heavy lifting up to real democrats.
What a disappointment.
when you multiply him out by counting every single local radio and tv station, it starts getting really frightening. samuel clemmons knew over a hundred years ago the press was full of shit, but today, just being full of shit would be a vast improvement.
there is no fourth estate. it was sold.
hillary, a radical democrat? and bill is a feminist, too, right...?
it is comical isn't it? i cannot decide if it's more funny or sad.
funny that he thinks that... sad that he actually gets paid to write it...
Wow, that article was worse than an Olberman or O'Reilly spiel, and that's hard to do. You're being gracious with "pitifully painful"...
oh yea he gets paid, you don't get a bloody red cent to tell the truth anymore.
and as for being worse than o'reilly, the talk radio salary scale is based on exactly that benchmark. i think the very bottom is at a small low power am station in arkansas.
Hmmmm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didnt see an actual reason not to support Obama, just a statement saying he wasnt going to, even if it meant voting for the enemy. Which pretty much confirms my impression of the sixties "radicals": that they were more about ego than ideal.
I wish I could say the subtext of the piece wasnt "uppity negro!", but I cant. Maybe I just read that in?
no you read correctly dave. missing were any grounded reasons. it's pretty much naked standing there in the dark. pretty much like all of our media is.
